The vomiting that stops them dead in their tracks, forces more work on your colony via clean jobs, and drains their hunger Leading to a spike in consumption that could be a problem depending on how many pawns are afflicted and the rate at which you're accumulating food(leading to more difficulty in challenging biomes.) The sick mood penalty, the pain debuffs, the malnourished debuffs. The move and work speeds, everything is just ground to a halt. Pawns under food poisoning might as well be catatonic for as useful as they are. It's more that avoiding it is preferable to me because of how absolutely debilitating it is. Just easier to completely avoid the really dumb way Food Poisoning taints the entire stack of food, causing it to spiral out of control until you either pin point where it's at, or your pawns consume every meal in the stack and it stops tainting new meals, dealing with your colony grinding to a halt and absolutely reducing your food stores in the process as they consume more to deal with their constant malnutrition. There's also the manhours saved that you can defer elsewhere from not having a full time cook, or if something does happen to your cook(s) that cause meal prep to lag behind consumption rates. The "debuff" you're talking about is better than the one from actually being hungry, and significantly better than getting food poisoning(both the sick mood penalty and the actual illness effects,) which you cannot eliminate completely with a chef - but the paste dispenser does. Red negatives doesn't necessarily mean bad, because there are worse red negatives. It's more a balancing act against a sliding scale, not a game goal of getting all green moods. You're approaching mood the completely wrong way. r/RimWorldStreams - For all of your videos and streams needs r/RimWorldTales - /u/srgrafo's Rimworld Comic Series r/RimworldSwap - Swap saves with other players r/ShitRimworldSays - /r/nocontext posts about /r/RimWorld r/RimworldArt - Posts about Rimworld Artwork (not fanart!) r/Rimreddit - Colonists playing only on a single planet r/RimWorldPorn - High Quality Images of Rimworld Colonies No discussing pirated versions of the game.
